Our Story

In 2016, Ed and Hannah Flint felt called to plant bread church in LA.

Prior to this they were based at St Mary’s, an Anglican Church in central London. Ed had been ordained and served as Associate Pastor there for a decade.

St Mary's has a history of planting churches, all founded on shared values: an intelligent communication of the Gospel, a hunger for the work of the Holy Spirit, and an irreligious approach to church. Bread began with a handful of people meeting in the Flint’s living room excited by what God might do.

Today, as a larger more established community, we hold to those same values as we seek to experience more of Jesus, and invite others to do the same.
